Yacouba Sawadogo

It took Yacouba Sawadogo twenty years to stop the desert in Burkina Faso. He faced over-farming, over-grazing and overpopulation, and despite being ridiculed by his peers he found a way to re-forest and heal the soil using traditional methods that he embraced and adapted.
