While testifying in federal court, a Wisconsin County Clerk argued that early voting and weekend voting provides “too much access” to polls for residents of urban areas,
In Novack’s opinion, the elimination of weekend voting would “level the playing field” between large urban areas and smaller suburban and rural communities that lack the resources to staff weekend hours.
Novack was asked if she believed some voters in Milwaukee and Madison — communities that previously used weekend voting — had too much access to the polls. She replied that yes, there was “too much access to the voters as far as opportunities.”
In an example of ass backward conservative thinking, Novack said that the ridiculously long lines at polls, which have been caused by the voting restrictions that have been put in place in recent years, were actually proof that voting in those areas was too easy.
