Arizona GOP senator: “I just don’t see how I can” back Donald Trump

Donald Trump calls global warming a hoax, until it threatens his golf course
By Ben Guarino May 24 2016

Donald Trump has mixed feelings about climate change.

In January 2014, he publicly wondered how the United States could be spending money to combat what, in his words, was a “GLOBAL WARMING HOAX.” In October, when Trump was bitten by the autumnal chill, the Republican presidential candidate snarked on Twitter that he could use “a big fat dose of global warming.” He told The Washington Post editorial board in March that he is “not a great believer in man-made climate change.”

But when it came to protecting his own investments from global warming’s effects, Trump canned the screaming capital letters and jokes. Instead, Trump wants to curtail climate change with a wall.

there is one candidate in this Democratic primary who Donald Trump said would make a “great president,” and it’s not Bernie Sanders.

Bernie is going to fight through the narrow path we have to the nomination because there is also only one candidate who believes health care should be a right for everyone in this country, that kids of all backgrounds should be able to go to college without crushing debt, and that we cannot transform a corrupt system by taking its money.

Can Bernie count on you to contribute $3 to our campaign right now as a way of saying you are still with Bernie Sanders and believe that every vote and every delegate is an important declaration of support for the values we share?

Clinton leads Trump by just 3 points in new poll

Donald Trump’s hammering away at questions of Cruz’s eligibility, given that he was born to his American citizen mother while she was living in Canada, “Trump may have something” when he levels the question about Cruz’s eligibility.

Trump might get traction out of reminding Iowa Republicans that Cruz’s given name is Rafael, which, apparently, is too “ethnic-sounding” for provincial “homeschooled” Midwestern conservatives.

If national polls are to be believed, then come November, we could face the largest wave of Republican voters in decades.

Muslim Woman & Jewish Man Booted from Trump Rally for Silent Protest Against Islamophobia
JANUARY 11, 2016

A Muslim woman and a Jewish man were kicked out of a Donald Trump rally on Friday after silently protesting the Republican front-runner’s Islamophobic views. Rose Hamid, a flight attendant, and Marty Rosenbluth, an attorney, wore yellow badges with the word “Muslim”—an intentional reference to the yellow star badges Jews were forced to wear under the Nazis. Rose Hamid was also wearing a hijab and a T-shirt that read “Salam, I come in peace.”

Trump supporters at a rally in Lowell, Massachusetts harassed two protesters sitting quietly with signs that read “America Is Already Great” and “God Bless President Obama”

Trump’s campaign:

  1. His enthusiasm for creating a database of all Muslims in the United States.
  2. His ongoing lies about Muslims in New Jersey celebrating 9/11.
  3. His status as birther-in-chief, cynically sowing doubt about President Obama’s legitimacy as the duly elected President of the United States.
  4. His misogyny — here’s just one HuffPost piece on this, but there’s no shortage of these.
  5. His xenophobia and scapegoating of immigrants, including his lies about Mexican immigrants and his ardent desire to deport millions of undocumented immigrants.
  6. His unmistakable passion for bullying. Again, there’s no shortage of examples, but you could start with his defense of supporters who roughed up a protester at one of his rallies or hisridiculing of a disabled New York Times reporter.

TRUMP: “Let’s start with this group right over here. come on. this man, I like this guy.”
MAN: “We have a problem in this country, it’s called Muslims. We know our current president is one. You know he’s not even an American–”
TRUMP: “–We need this question–”
MAN: “But anyway, we have training camps brewing where they want to kill us. That’s my question, when can we get rid of it?”
TRUMP: “We’re going to be looking at a lot of different things. A lot of people are saying that, a lot of people are saying bad things are happening out there.”

It was a pretty surreal experience to sit there surrounded by Republicans, in the Ronald Reagan Library of all places, listening to Donald Trump go on a confusing and irresponsible rant against vaccination, Jeb Bush defend his brother’s decision to take us to war based on intelligence we now know was false, and Carly Fiorina parrot debunked right-wing talking points about Planned Parenthood that are flat-out wrong.
